Backing tape prevents weld failure
Backing tape used in the welding of seams or runs help to prevent weld failures and produce flat, slag-free welds requiring no grinding or backgouging.
Welding equipment maker moves to Wales
Huntingdon Fusion Techniques left its Huntingdon home on December 19 to relocate to larger premises in Burry Port in Carmarthenshire.
Although one of a number of instruments being sold for weld purging, the HFT Mark V is built and calibrated at weld purging concentrations of oxygen, ensuring accuracy for welding of stainless steel and exotic metals.
Most competitive monitors are made for safety monitoring and calibrated to atmospheric oxygen levels and can be slow to react in low-oxygen environments, leading to unreliable weld conditions.
Completely redesigned to ensure that all HFT's market criteria were met, the Mark V Weld Purge Monitor has a new, back-sealed oxygen sensor ensuring that only gas from the purge volume is contacting the chemical cell, a new, more rugged enclosure that affords better protection and a reinforced, easy-read LCD display.
The purpose-designed integrated PCB and display is lighter and free from loose, soldered wires that can lead to electronic failure.
A highly-sensitive potentiometer allows precise calibration to 0.01% of reading.
With an easily replaceable sensor, the new instrument features a screw-thread sensor housing for added stability and with less chance of gas leakage which can cause erroneous readings.
The sensor unit is interchangeable with all previous HFT models, ensuring compatibility throughout the range.
