There is lately a significant growth in orders for purge systems capable of withstanding the higher temperatures used during pre-heating of welds to 300 deg C for 24h.

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques (HFT) has witnessed a significant growth in orders for purge systems capable of withstanding the higher temperatures used during pre-heating of welds.

Recent orders from the USA and Spain for systems covering the range 500 to 750mm (20 to 30in) have been received to allow the use of preheat temperatures up to 300 deg C for 24h.

The purge systems are an extension of the standard HFT product line and incorporate a thermally resistant covering over the product.

Purge systems available from HFT cover the range 150 to 2000mm (6 to 80in) and can withstand preheat temperatures of typically 300 deg C for 24h or 250 deg C for 50h.
