The 16 tonnes installed weight gives an indication of the very high accuracies and long cutter life obtainable with this machine.
Surface finish is down to Ra 0.1 micron and accuracy better than 0.01mm is achievable with hardened tool steels.
Linear motors drive all three axes and special controls compensate for torque ripples and motor irregularities.
Despite a table capacity of 800kg, feed rate is up to 8m/min, even in contouring mode.
This is assisted by frictionless, high stiffness, hydrostatic guidance in X,Y and Z, the latter axis also having spindle head weight compensation.
Rapid axis movements are complemented by a very high-speed spindle, either a 17kW/36,000 rev/min HSK50E vector-controlled model or a 42,000 rev/min HSK40E taper version.
The 30-station ATC tool magazine is accessible during machining.
Standard equipment includes a laser for measuring the length, diameter and contour of the selected tool.
Control is by the manufacturer's own RMS6 system, which ensures high path accuracy at maximum contouring speeds, even on complex parts.
High precision milling of guide bores and sealing surfaces as well as high-feed 2D contour milling are easy to program.
In 3D measuring mode using a touch trigger probe, precise data collection is ensured by automatic limitation of axis acceleration and maximum speed. Request a free brochure from Hurco Europe ...
