Hurco took five orders at MACH and
expects more

"What was particularly pleasing was that five of the nine customers were buying their first Hurco machine, and a couple those firms we had never even heard of before", enthused Waghorn.
"This is where a national exhibition really scores, as in-house shows tend to attract just the people you are already in contact with." In all, 170 people visited the Hurco stand in hall 5, boosting quotations sent out in April to 117, compared with 30 for an average month.
The main interest was in the company's recently-introduced, smaller vertical machining centres, the VM1 and VM2, while a third of enquiries were for Hurco's larger, high-speed machines and those of its German principal, Roeders.
Waghorn advises that Hurco Europe is currently converting one in four quotations, up from one in six during the recession.
