A laser interferometer system has been acquired by machine tool rebuild company, HNC, to further improve the accuracy of rebuilt machine tools.

To further enhance the accuracy of their rebuilt products, machine tool refurbishers HNC of Halifax, have purchased a model ML 10, Renishaw Gold, Laser Interferometer System This represents the ultimate in the laser calibration of machine tools and co-ordinate measuring machines with an accuracy of +/ - 0.7ppm

Tim Price, director of HNC looked at a number of different systems and believes only the Renishaw Gold package met with HNC's stringent requirements, adding that it is not only their aim to constantly increase the accuracy of their customer's rebuilt machines but to offer new and existing customers the facility of having machinery recalibrated in their own workshops by one of HNC's technicians.

Price pointed out that if the machine is mechanically sound, they can often recalibrate to a greater accuracy than when it was new.

This service is available to all machine tool and CCM users, and if you would like to discuss what laser calibrating can do for you, call Tim Price at HNC.
