Slender-probe viscometer withstands high
pressure
A range of in-line process viscometers has been extended with a slender-probe device particularly suited to high-pressure lines and gives a production manager tight control over concentrate viscosity.
Hydramotion , a world leader in viscosity measurement, has extended its range of in-line process viscometers with the launch of the T10, a slender-probe device particularly suited to high-pressure lines An important application for the T10 is the production of powders by spray-drying, where concentrated solutions are forced at high pressure through very fine nozzles into a chamber of warm air

Portable viscosity measurement made on site
Portable process viscometer can be used with any volume of fluid to give instant spot measurement of viscosity in the field, factory or lab without requiring any on-site set-up or calibration.
Viscosity measurement website expanded
Hydramotion has added sixteen new pages to its website, offering visitors valuable information, free downloads and an interactive viscosity units conversion table.
This process is widely used in the food and chemicals industries for making such things as baby foods, coffee, soup mixes and dyestuffs.
The efficiency of drying is largely determined by the degree of atomization, which is directly proportional to the viscosity of the feed solution.
A T10 in the feed line will give the production manager tight control over the viscosity of the concentrate before it is pumped into the drying chamber, thereby improving productivity and enhancing the uniform quality of the product.
The diameter of the probe is just 10 mm, making it ideal for narrow-bore pipes.
The instrument is typically supplied with a 3/4in threaded process fitting, but any other fitting can be provided, including sanitary or flanged.
The standard probe is an all-welded 316 stainless steel construction without moving parts, seals or bearings, which can operate at up to 250 deg C without requiring special cooling.
A high polish, PTFE or custom coating can be applied if required.
Outputs include a 4 - 20mA analogue viscosity signal and a serial data link.
Every instrument is factory-calibrated to traceable international standards, so there is no need for any on-site calibration.
The T10 is simply installed in any location and in any orientation, and once fitted it is virtually maintenance-free. Request a free brochure from Hydramotion ...
