Infrared pyrometers benefit from digital
systems
Using digital technology, infrared pyrometers range from the simplest OEM instrument, where cost performance ratios are important, to advanced systems.
The induction heating industry has long been a user of infrared pyrometers for measuring temperatures As the industry embraces new technology then the infrared pyrometers have also had to respond to the requirements for faster measurements and new features

Digital PID controller has short cycle time
A fast, digital, programmable PID-controller has been introduced for the use with IMPAC digital infrared pyrometers and features an extremely short controller-cycle time of only 250 microsec.
Ultra high-speed pyrometers measure in 10 microsec
For high speed usage standard infrared pyrometers may not be fast enough to track the temperature changes, but ultra high-speed pyrometers can measure temperatures in 10 microsec.
IMPAC Infrared has met this challenge and has a range of products that have firmly established them as a main supplier to this significant market sector.
Using digital technology IMPAC have designed a range of products that can satisfy even the most demanding application.
From the simplest OEM instrument, where cost performance ratios are important, to sophisticated solutions, IMPAC have a suitable product.
The Series 200 are high performance, digital, infrared pyrometers designed with the OEM company in mind.
The build quality and performance has not been compromised by the very competitive pricing structure.
Their stainless steel construction and the ability to configure them via the digital interface have quickly established them as a favoured instrument in the industry.
Communication with other process control equipment is also an important factor and here again IMPAC have introduced products to satisfy this requirement.
The Series 5 pyrometers have the option of an RS232 or RS485 serial interface to facilitate communications with other process control systems for both data collection, control and pyrometer configuration.
The Series 140 pyrometers also have the same serial communication features as the Series 5 pyrometers, but also have the option of an integral Profibus interface.
This feature is an industry first in pyrometery.
The Series 5 and Series 140 can also be supplied with an integral video camera to enable the process being controlled to be visually monitored.
IMPAC were the first company to offer the possibility of an integral camera in an infrared pyrometer.
