Continued development has seen the introduction of an extensive range of on-line cameras that can measure temperatures from 0 to 1300 deg C for permanent installation in industrial processes.

IMPAC Infrared has extended their range of On-Line Thermal Imaging and Line Cameras Continued development has seen the introduction of an extensive range of on-line cameras for permanent installation on research and industrial process applications

The IL series of Line cameras can measure temperatures from 0 to 1300 deg C and depending on the model can provide upto 256 measurement points per line and frame rates upto 512Hz.

If the object being measured is moving the camera displays the temperature distribution in two dimensions.

The cameras are available with a choice of operating waveband, including 8-14 micron for non-ferrous materials, 4.8-5.2 micron for glass surface temperatures and 1.4-1.8 micron for metal surface temperatures.

A range of outputs is offered, including RS 232/422, Ethernet and PCI fibre optic.

Unlike traditional line scanning systems these cameras use uncooled infrared linear arrays and do not have an opto-mechanical scanner and consequently require less maintenance and have a longer working life expectancy.

Used in conjunction with the powerful on-line software, process limits can be monitored and controlled and if required the measured data can be recorded and saved as video.

The IVN series of On-Line high resolution Thermal Imaging Cameras utilise uncooled microbolometer array technology to provide 320 x 240 pixels with frame rates of 50Hz.

Four models are available operating at discrete wavebands of 8-14 micron (non-metallic surfaces), 4.8-5.2 micron (glass surfaces), 3-5 micron (metals and ceramics) and 3.9 micron (flame heated furnaces, through flames and hot gasses).

Interface to a PC is via PCI fibre optic link to allow full speed data transmission.

The cameras have a response time of just 40 milliseconds, making them ideal for fast changing processes.

Powerful PC based software allows the user to analyse and control the most difficult of processes and customised software is also available on request.

For higher temperatures the IV Series of On-Line Thermal Imaging Cameras lead the field.

With two models available these cameras are the ideal solution to accurate high temperature thermal imaging of metal surfaces and heating furnaces etc The IVGA 7900 operating at a waveband of 1.5 micron is ideal for thermal imaging of metals and ceramics at temperatures between 300 and 2500 deg C.

The camera uses a unique design FPA detector giving 76,800 pixels and a bloom free thermal image of high temperature targets.

The IVS 9103 operating at a waveband of 1 micron is the ideal solution for thermal imaging of metal surfaces at temperatures between 600 and 3600 deg C.

This unique thermal imaging camera uses a patented FPA detector to give 300,000 measurement points 30 times/s to give a bloom free image.

It provides exceptional high accuracy and resolution and is minimally affected by emissivity changes.

The IVGA and IVS thermal imaging cameras are complimented by a range of accessories including additional lens and protection jackets to ensure long trouble free performance under hostile industrial operating conditions.

For control requirements, an 8-channel analogue output module is available, together with a powerful software program for analysis and control functions.

IMPAC Infrared is the leader in the field of industrial non-contact temperature measurement and is committed to bringing the most upto date technology to the market.
