The IB880 from IBASE is a Pentium M class Single Board Computer in compact form factor.

The IB880 from IBASE is a Pentium M class Single Board Computer in compact 5.25" EBX form factor Uniquely, this small form factor board will accept up to 2GB of DDR-333 memory in its 2 DIMM sockets and its performance to power consumption ratio will make it an attractive proposition for system designers

Based on the Intel 82855GME chipset, the IB880 supports a 400MHz system bus frequency and incorporates numerous power saving features.

It provides an integrated graphics controller with support for dual independent displays using Intel's Extreme Graphics technology, which balances memory use between graphics and system for optimum performance.

A 48-bit LVDS interface allows a wide range of LCDs to be driven directly, with the actual screen resolution selectable in BIOS.

The board also provides a dedicated CCFL backlight connector for ease of wiring.

This is complimented by DVI and TMDS video outputs.

The IB880 has 2 IDE channels, with a Compact Flash type II socket connected as a slave device on the second channel, making it suitable for running small footprint Operating Systems.

There is a 26-pin header for hooking up a slim FDD.

The IB880 basic model comes with a single 10/100Base-T Ethernet controller, while the IB880F includes a Gigabit LAN controller.

System expansion is possible with a standard PCI slot (wired for 2x Masters) and a mini PCI slot.

A 2-port Serial ATA host controller allows connection to high speed disk drives at transfer rates of up to 150MB/s.

There are also four USB 2.0 ports and four serial ports in the form of pin-headers.

Six-channel audio is provided on board with the output rated at 2W.

By utilising components from Intel's EID roadmap, the IB880 should have a production lifespan of up to 5 years thus making it a stable platform for manufacturers of industrial control systems, Point-Of-Sale terminals, multimedia entertainment centres and medical PCs amongst many others.
