Demonstrations will illustrate complete surface design-to-tooling workflow and full integration with leading PLM systems.

ICEM , the leading developer of surface modelling, surface quality analysis and design visualisation software, has chosen the Euromold 2005 show, taking place from 30 November to 3 December, 2005 in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, for the first major public demonstrations of its new ICEM Shape Design software suite The company will also be demonstrating the latest version of its existing, market-leading surface modelling software suite, ICEM Surf 4.5, as well as standalone solutions for reverse engineering and photo-realistic design visualisation

ICEM Shape Design is a new suite of surface modelling, surface model analysis and design visualisation software solutions developed by ICEM on Dassault Systemes' Component Application Architecture Version 5 (CAA V5) - the architecture that underpins Dassault's product lifecycle management (PLM) software offerings, including Catia V5.

Demonstrations of ICEM Shape Design will show how it fully integrates with a Catia V5 design engineering environment to provide a seamless two-way flow of design data.

These demonstrations will cover an integrated workflow, from scan modelling, through surface model generation and manipulation, surface quality analysis and diagnosis, Class A surface development and real-time design visualisation and review, to release of final surface model data to tooling design.

Demonstrations of ICEM Surf 4.5, meanwhile, will feature the software's latest enhancements and added functions for use in the tooling development process, including the ability to globally deform surface models into their "spring-back compensated" form.

This functionality can be used in the press tool design process to morph the original surface model to the over-crowned tool face model to ensure that, after pressing, the part springs back to its designed position.

Of special interest to automotive design engineers, the demonstrations of ICEM Surf 4.5 will also include its new helix function, which automates and speeds the complex and time-consuming process of designing a vehicle's side drop-glass.

In addition to the demonstrations of ICEM Shape Design, ICEM Surf and the company's standalone reverse engineering and design visualisation solutions, ICEM will also be presenting a number of technical papers in the Design and Engineering Forum and the VR Forum elsewhere on the Euromold 2005 show floor at various times throughout the show.
