Automotive industry requests drive development of new and enhanced functions introduced with aesthetica Version 2.3
The order follows the completion of pilot studies in which aesthetica was used with live design and analysis data.
Icona Solutions' aesthetica is leading-edge software for visualising the impact of manufacturing variation on product quality.
For the first time, engineers using aesthetica are able to review, interactively, the effects of manufacturing variation on the appearance of a vehicle or sub-assembly, such as an instrument panel or body work.
The automotive company will use aesthetica at its design centre to produce interactive visualisations of non-nominal products for design review and aesthetic assessment and to enhance the company's quality auditing processes during vehicle development.
"In such a competitive environment as the automotive industry, it is vital for companies to continually improve the concept-to-market cycle through right first time design," said Dr John Maxfield, technical director, Icona Solutions .
"We are therefore delighted that this major automotive manufacturer has made the decision to deploy aesthetica as a key contributor to its quality, cost and delivery objectives".
"We are confident that it will fulfill a crucial role in enabling the company to save time and reduce costs in the perceived quality process." The order was placed through Icona Solutions' exclusive UK reseller, Majenta Solutions, who worked closely with Icona throughout the project.
