Icore International's range of contact bands, which simplify the construction and enhance the performance of high current connectors, has been extended by the introduction of new Band 12L products.
The keen surfer highlighted this as a reason he was attracted to the company.
"The shift in manufacturing trends over the past decade shows that manufacturing, always a sector operating on constrained margins, is no longer as attractive in Western Europe," explained Ducasse.
"Lower operating costs in emerging economies have resulted in companies moving manufacturing away from the region and instead locating in countries such as India and China".
"However, companies such as IBM have evolved from offering just products to providing value added services and have profited".
"I now hope to put an analogous approach into practice; building on Icore's growing reputation for supplying pre-assembled parts and delivering value added services." Ducasse was keen to stress that while he feels IBM's manufacturing model is one to aspire towards, he is conscious that Icore is still beginning its journey en route to such innovation.
Ducasse worked for Tyco from 1997 to May 2005, holding a number of different sales and business management positions, including his final two years as sales manager for the West of France, incorporating the role of industry manager for Household Appliances.
A qualified engineer, Ducasse had previously also been involved in the aerospace industry as Tyco's Airbus account manager.
