This integration complements IDBS' existing support for chemical drawing packages, giving customers greater choice.
Earlier this month, IDBS reported strong growth in sales of chemistry applications during 2002.
Andrew Lemon, Ph.D., IDBS' Chemistry Product Manager commented: "IDBS software is proving highly effective for chemists in drug discovery who need a modern, integrated chemical data management solution backed by a high-quality support and services package." He continued: "Following our successful development collaboration with ACD/Labs in which we introduced spectral data handling capabilities to ActivityBase, we are pleased to extend the interoperability between our products by offering our customers the opportunity to use ACD/Labs' ChemSketch as their drawing package within all IDBS applications." ACD/ChemSketch provides a gateway for IDBS' software users to access ACD/Labs' applications for systematic naming, NMR, prediction, analytical data processing and management and PhysChem prediction.

ACD/Labs' systematic naming application, ACD/Name, converts systematic and trivial names to chemical structures.
It has the ability to create IUPAC systematic names and CAS index names and is the accepted quality standard in systematic nomenclature generation.
ACD/PhysChem property calculator tools come with the largest available PhysChem property content database, and the analytical chemistry components offer the ability to manage 1D and 2D NMR, MS, UV-Vis, IR, Chromatography and other analytical curves.
Antony Williams, V.P.
of Scientific Development and Marketing at ACD/Labs commented: "ACD/Labs offers the definitive collection of applications for systematic naming, NMR and PhysChem prediction, ChemAnalytics and mobile chemistry.
Our collaboration with IDBS offers our joint customers the benefits which arise from delivering ACD/ChemSketch as a homogenizing environment integrating ActivityBase and ACD/Labs tools.".
