Latest software enhancements for scientists
E-WorkBook Suite is a flexible and configurable electronic laboratory notebook that supports data, information and knowledge capture in one compliant infrastructure
"Practicality has to be the key word for any ELN," says Dr Paul Denny-Gouldson, IDBS Product Manager for E-WorkBook.
"Our starting point with E-WorkBook was that such a system must fit into the R and D scientist's existing routine and systems as seamlessly as possible.
Only in this way can we be sure of a positive reception and uptake.
Fortunately, we could draw on unrivalled "realworld" knowledge - our experience as former R and D scientists and also from developing leading discovery data management tools such as ActivityBase.
The resulting E-WorkBook we believe provides a flexible, configurable and easy-to-use solution that will be welcomed by scientists of all disciplines.
It offers open access and works with all standard tools - in short any scientist within the team should be able to start using it very quickly." In addition to meeting the individual scientist's requirements, E-WorkBook will also appeal at the corporate level.
"Regulatory compliance, 21 CFR part 11, and IP protection are fundamental to the commercial success of today's drug companies and are all made possible through E-WorkBook," continues Dr Denny-Gouldson.
"We are therefore providing E-WorkBook as a core component of our integrated enterprise data management solution for drug discovery." Initial feedback on E-WorkBook has been extremely positive.
During a recent pre-launch roadshow in the US and Europe, the E-WorkBook caused great excitement.
Attendees commented that recent rulings on the legality of electronic records and signatures had caused many companies to set up projects to investigate how to meet these requirements.
E-WorkBook enables companies to begin to address these regulatory requirements today.
