Long-range RFID tag seen at any orientation
Long-range (100m) RFID tag not only has a read/write capability of 8KB, but it has the world's first 360 deg visibility of wireless LED - regardless of tag orientation.
Identec Solutions, a leading global supplier of long-range RFID-based solutions, introduces its new RFID tag at the RFID World in Dallas, Texas, USA, Feb.
27- March 1, 2006 (Booth no.1411).
The i-Q8R is the world's most feature-rich ruggedized RFID tag that can attain ranges of up to 100m (300ft).
Identec Solutions, a leader in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) innovation, has designed the world's leading feature-rich ruggedized tag: the i-Q8R.
Extensive engineering and testing have provided Identec Solutions the backdrop for developing this world-class tag with all the dynamic features of the i-Q series transponders with increased tolerance to rugged environments.
This long-range (300ft) RFID tag not only has a read/write capability of 8KB, but it has the world's first 360 deg visibility of wireless LED.
This 360 deg pick-to-light provides visibility of the tag regardless of tag orientation.
Innovation was driven from collaborated efforts with Identec Solutions' clients in heavy manufacturing and automotive sectors.
Former General Motors executive technology advisor Mike Comello commented, "General Motors appreciates when suppliers take a collaborative partnering effort when designing solutions for GM's environment.
I anticipate other automotive manufactures like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Ford and Chrysler will want to adopt this solution." The i-Q8R tag will be showcased at International Paper's RFID Lab in Tennessee.
The tag withstands temperatures of up to 356 deg F (187 deg C) and the durability to withstand multiple drops from 30ft to concrete ensuring endurance in the harshest manufacturing and production line environments.
Independent studies by the engineering division of a 'Fortune 100' company (the World's Leader in manufacturing of industrial vehicles and heavy equipment) validated the specifications and world-class distinction.
The i-Q8R will provide companies with the ability to track and locate assets through the entire production cycle.
"We are pleased with the development of this rugged tag.
Our engineering and marketing initiative of collaborating with the automotive and manufacturing sector provided us significant insight into their requirements.
We were able to engineer the i-Q8R and deliver it at a price point ensuring Return-on-Investment (ROI) is achieved," said Roderick O'Keefe, vice-president sales and marketing for Identec Solutions.
