Proximity sensors resist welding effects
A range of proximity sensors can now deal with all the problems associated with welding and will sense a distance whatever the metal so avoiding problems associated with aluminium.
A new range of proximity sensors from IFM Electronic's Efector M series can now deal with all the problems associated with welding Firstly, the sensing range is greater to prevent mechanical damage and the new range from IFM Eletronic will sense the same distance whatever the metal, so no more probems with aluminium

Inductive proximity sensors made for metalworking
Proximity sensors from ifm electronic are designed to resist contact with metal components and have a long-lasting anti-spatter coating.
Sensor detects pump cavitation and stoppages
IFM Electronic's has developed a pump diagnostic pressure sensor that continuously monitors and detects cavitation, trapped air and blockages.
Secondly, they are PTFE-coated and the sensing face is made from a highly durable thermoset to cope with weld splatter.
Thirdly, the circuits are hardened against the interference from the electromagnetic fields.
Standard cylindrical sizes are available in M12, M18 and M30.
The enhanced sensing distance means the M12 will sense 8mm even on non-ferrous targets.
Also available is a compact rectangular unit, sensing up to 35mm in any one of five directions.
IFM Electronic specialises in the application of advanced electronic technology to produce innovative and effective solutions for industrial control applications.
Products include flow sensors; pressure transmitters and switches; temperature switches and transmitters; capacitive, inductive and photoelectric proximity sensors; and a full range of AS-i I/O modules and masters.
