Recognising objects independently of
orientation

An image sensor for assembly and quality control detects pre-taught objects, viewed from above, and independently of object orientation.

Ifm electronic's efector dualis image sensor (O2D22x) is a compact object recognition sensor for assembly systems and quality control use It reliably detects objects which were taught before

Tthe orientation of the object can be freely defined within the sensor's field of view of 0-360 deg.

* Stand-alone unit - the sensor captures the object from the top view.

An integrated infrared LED lighting ensures adequate image brightness.

At close range no separate backlights are necessary.

At far range an external backlight of any light colour can be used.

* Handling concept - the menu-guided PC parameter setting is made through an Ethernet interface and allows quick adjustment to the application.

The Ethernet interface allows remote maintenance with error image and evaluation data memory as well as an update option for the sensors.

Parameters can also be set on the unit via two pushbuttons and the four-digit 10-segment display.

The sensor can be used as an independent unit.

* Technical data - the VGA-CMOS image sensor has a resolution of 0.1mm.

The operating distance lies between 50 and 2000mm.

This results in field of view sizes of 20 x 14mm to 1280 x 960mm.

The user can configure up to five switching outputs.

The detection rate is a maximum of 20Hz.

Image sensor, evaluation electronics and lighting are integrated in an industrially compatible diecast zinc housing with the protection rating IP 67.

The permissible temperature range is -10 deg C to +60 deg C. Request a free brochure from IFM Electronic ...
