Latest ERP, IT, to cut turnround time to hours

ASG was forced to seek a new ERP solution because support for its existing system - Dema, now part of the Ramyses group - was about to end.
The company particularly wanted a system that offered advance planning and scheduling (APS) functionality because all its scheduling was done manually, using a paper-based system.
Bruce Allman, managing director of ASG says, "we looked at a few suppliers and eventually short-listed two companies (Information Engineering and Made2Manage).
"We originally approached Information Engineering because we'd read a lot about them in the press - in particular a case study on one of their customers in the same market as us.
The thing that really made the difference in the end was that Information Engineering was willing to introduce us to customers already using their SYSPRO APS system." (Allman visited Information Engineering customers Hewland Engineering and Dzus Fasteners).
"Suppliers all make grand claims about their software, says Allman, "but you can't fake satisfied customers.
It was very reassuring for us to see the software being used effectively - we particularly liked the ease of use of the tracking modules and the way the operatives on the shopfloor used that part of the system - it was all touch screen controlled; very slick, quick and responsive."
