Modified geometry reduces friction

New sizes and variants As well as the new size 20 system designed for high loads, igus has introduced a completely new carriage design, fitted onto anodised aluminium double rails or a single, flexible rail.
New DryLin WQ can better compensate for differences of height in the mounting faces.
The square-shaped design unlike a round shaft ensures that the loads are evenly distributed for better results.
Due to the flat supporting surface, the friction value of the guide is reduced by 15% compared to the well-established DryLin W guide.
In addition, the friction value (-20 %) and wear (-34 %) are optimised by the use of a new plain bearing material (iglidur J200).
Robust square-shaped design The overwhelming robustness of the new square-shaped solution is clear.
Large supporting surfaces distribute the load evenly and can therefore be used in applications that have a high surface pressure.
Due to the fact that the guide system works without lubricants so-called dry running particles of dirt and dust are not attracted.
This makes the guide system extremely insensitive to dirt and maintenance-free during normal operation.
Users are also able to reduce installation costs with new DryLin WQ.
The multi-axis movement (+/- 1 mm) of the "floating bearings" compensates for alignment and parallelism errors between the rails.
Jamming, which can only otherwise be prevented by time-consuming alignment of the rails, can thus be ruled out. Request a free brochure from Igus UK ...
