FireWire cable for digital cameras
extended

A standard igus FireWire connector cable for digital camera technology is now available for longer distance applications in the form of Chainflex CFBUS.055 FireWire.

The standard igus FireWire connector cable for digital camera technology is now available for longer distance applications in the form of Chainflex CFBUS.055 FireWire FireWire cables are used in digital camera technology to move large amounts of data between the image processing system (computer) and camera

The short transmission lengths typically found in the consumer market are problem-free, as hardly any movement is involved.

In industrial applications, however, Energy Chains can guide and protect cables over distances of up to 10m.

Here, cables often fail mechanically after just t2m or 3m due to their structure, or are simply not flexible enough to achieve the required transmission lengths.

Now igus has solved the problem with a combination of its new FireWire connector cable and its innovative Energy Chains, which can guide and protect cables over distances of up to 10m.

The first tests reveal applications with a data volume transmission rate of up to 400Mbit/s are now possible.

* Special structure - the bus pairs and supply wires in the new igus FireWire cable are twisted together with highly flexible shields and an optimised pitch length.

The gusset-filling extruded, flame-resistant, TPE outer jacket provides the protection the cable needs to prevent core ruptures.

The FireWire cable is DESINA-compliant and also has UL and CSA approval.

Series production began at the end of May 2005. Request a free brochure from Igus UK ...
