Interplas plastics show helps BPF

UK's leading plastics and rubber exhibition, Interplas 2008, is to help The British Plastics Federation to celebrate its 75th anniversary this year.

Interplas 2008, the UK's leading plastics and rubber exhibition, is joining forces with The British Plastics Federation (BPF) to help the association celebrate its 75th anniversary this year The BPF's novel 'Plastics Timeline' shows the many milestones of plastics through the ages including the invention in the UK of polyethylene in 1933 and its crucial role in World War II

Plastics Timeline will be exhibited at Interplas, providing visiting plastics professionals with an exciting visual representation of how plastics have developed and the benefits they have brought.

The BPF will also offer a 'Materials Cafe', where exhibition visitors can discuss their materials requirements and challenges with company experts over a cup of coffee.

BPF will also help to organise the exhibition's conference programme.

Leading industry speakers will discuss the most topical issues affecting the UK Plastics Industry and review ikely future trends.

Director general at BPF, Peter Davis, said: "We are delighted to be working with Interplas in this important year for the BPF.

The UK plastics industry has major strength in the global marketplace and Interplas provides an excellent showcase for what we have to offer.

For the BPF it is the ideal opportunity both to salute the achievements of our national industry and to look forward to further innovations and developments".

Interplas organiser Reed Exhibitions told manufacturingtalk.com that the BPF's involvement also emphasises the exhibition's dual focus on both materials and machinery.

"Research at previous shows has underlined strong visitor interest in the materials sector," confirmed exhibition director, Liz Finlay.

She added: "We are very pleased to have the BPF so closely involved this time to help us develop this part of the exhibition.".
