Ilapak's new PC controlled Vegatronic 2000 vertical form fill and seal machine offers greater flexibility, improved sealing quality and a more robust, modular construction.

Ilapak's new PC controlled Vegatronic 2000 vertical form fill and seal machine offers greater flexibility, improved sealing quality and a more robust, modular construction The 2000 is claimed to be capable of producing a much wider range of packs than previous models, including pillow, block bottom, stabilo and Doy packs, as well as three-sided sachets

Ilapak has also redesigned the machine's sealing jaw system to provide a higher closing torque for improved seal quality and an improved jaw drive for more precise sealing.

Among the features offered as standard are nip rollers with load cell for film tension control, a newly designed film and drive mechanism and a 100-program memory with fault diagnostic software, RS232 and RS485 and a parallel interface.

The enhanced construction features an inclined frame top giving improved hygiene standards, an electrical cabinet with 30 per cent more space and greater access to the machine sealing mechanism for easier maintenance.

Product changeovers are said to be easy to accomplish due to an incorporated pre-programmable size change and no-fill-no-bag facilities.

The Vegatronic 2000 can produce up to 90 bags per minute in sizes between 60mm-370mm in width and up to 800mm in length, using a variety of heat sealable and PE films.
