C# based graphics tools incorporate Gantt chart capability into.NET solutions, allowing easy visualisation and editing of schedules and plans, reducing the creation of charts from scratch.

ILOG, a leading provider of enterprise-class software components and services, has introduced the industry's first set of C#-based graphics tools for creating rich Gantt charts for Microsoft's.NET development environment An extension of the award-winning ILOG Visualisation Suite, ILOG Gantt for.NET targets .NET developers who want to create Gantt charts using a pure.NET solution, a result that will be faster and easier compared with previously-available products or home-grown solutions

Gantt charts are the most widely-used front-end for viewing scheduling resources - including people, machines and raw materials - in use today, facilitating more efficient management of these resources.

ILOG Gantt for.NET is expected to speed time-to-market for developers, and equip end-users in manufacturing, transportation, and other industries with the ability to easily visualise and edit schedules and plans.

Prior to ILOG Gantt for.NET, developers either had to adapt ActiveX-based products to the.NET framework that offered, at best, an interface to.NET, or they had to create their own Gantt charts from scratch, a costly and time-consuming endeavor.

ILOG's solution is built entirely in C#.

It integrates quickly into any.NET application, through Microsoft Visual Studio.NET or Borland C# Builder, eliminating the need for developers to write extra code.

In addition, unlike ActiveX-based products that are rigid by nature, the product is architected to be flexible and customisable.

ILOG Gantt for.NET features a flexible data model that can be adapted to any data source, and that automatically synchronises data with views.

Customisation is further supported with a set of Windows Forms controls that the developer can assemble, and with a rule-based tool that allows developers to reflect data values using graphical representations.

"ILOG Gantt for.NET exceeds our business expectations for planning hundreds of thousands of activities, and offering highly-specific notations and interactions.

Its ease of use in Visual Studio.NET saves us a considerable amount of time," said Christophe Sambo, project leader, A?roports de Paris.

"It is the worthy successor to ILOG Views (C++) for our airport planning applications." ILOG Gantt for.NET is the latest ILOG product available for the.NET platform.

It follows availability of the ILOG Optimisation Suite with .NET support, including ILOG CPLEX, ILOG Solver, ILOG Scheduler or ILOG Dispatcher.

ILOG Gantt for.NET can be embedded into Windows applications or Internet Explorer, and can be used with any.NET language, including Visual Basic.

NET, C#, Managed C++ and J#.

ILOG Gantt for.NET is "runtime free", meaning users don't pay for runtime during deployment phase.

ILOG has invested more than a decade creating sophisticated graphics tools and engines that support everything from air traffic control and homeland security, to ensuring the reliability of the most demanding telecommunications networks, providing end-users with the state-of-the-art tools they need to understand and manage the complex data that flow through and drive their business processes.
