Ink jet printers code 500,000 units/week
St Davids Assemblies, one of the UK's largest manufacturers of kettle controls and safety cut-outs, has chosen Imaje S4+ ink jet printers to code directly onto the 500, 000 units/week.
Water and alcohol based inks are supplied in sealed cartridges for easy handling whilst automatic rinsing and nozzle clearing and no moving parts make the printers virtually maintenance free.
A choice of four types of printhead provide high quality printing of up to eight lines of variable information, including bar codes and graphics, at speeds from 1.3 m/s to 5.5 m/s with character size from 0.7 mm to 40 mm.
Data for printing may be entered on the hand held keypad with built-in LCD screen showing scroll-down menus and WYSIWYG message display or downloaded from a central computer system via the RS232 interface.
From the entry level model, the S7 Prima, the smallest ink jet printer currently available, to the high performance S7 Mega, all Imaje S7 printers can be easily integrated into any production line or used free standing where the printer needs to be moved between several different lines.
The removable connection cassette containing all of the connections to the printer in a single compact unit makes installation and relocation a quick and simple operation.
In many applications, S7 printers are routinely moved between lines to optimise productivity and asset utilisation.
