Inks meet aerospace product marking standards
To meet the demands of US, Canadian and European aerospace corporations for reliable part marking by their contractors, Imaje offers a range of inks for use with its ink jet printers.
Markers suit low or high volume production
The Imaje S7 range of deviated ink jet printers provide cost effective coding and marking for a wide range of applications in low and high volume production environments.
A typical coding of 14 lines takes 4.5 seconds to print on a 6 seconds cycle and Ivor Shaw has chosen Imaje ink jet printers to apply the 18 million characters printed on its products and packaging every day.
The continuous production process demands the highest level of reliability from all machinery and Maintenance Manager, Darryl Orridge, ensures that only the most reliable equipment is installed.
"Every part of the product, including mouldings and extrusions, is manufactured in-house to maintain strict control over quality." says Darryl Orridge, "Pennine has built its reputation on quality and reliability and even one weak link in the production process will put that reputation at risk.
So, we only ever install the best systems and machinery.
Coding and marking is critical, it has to be clear and easily read and, as we supply to a number of export markets, product descriptions are in several different languages.
We have tried many different printers but none have given us the reliability and print quality we now get from our Imaje ink jets." At Pennine, the Imaje printers are pre-programmed with the complex product descriptions, type numbers and batch and date information so that the operator can easily select the correct coding information from a simple menu on the printer console with little risk of error.
In addition to coding packaging, Imaje printers are also used to apply graduation marks directly onto catheters, a job previously done by hand.
The use of automatic printing has not only increased production speeds but has also improved accuracy and reduced costs.
Imaje UK is a subsidiary of Imaje SA (part of the Dover Technologies Group), one of the world leaders in industrial coding and marking.
The company specialises in the development and distribution of continuous ink systems to the food and drink, pharmaceutical, mailing, aerospace component and cable industries.
