Food manufacturer crisps up its date marking
Giles Foods has tried most types of coders and printers to apply 'use by' dates and batch numbers to product packaging and have now standardised on the Imaje S7 deviated inkjet printers.
The Imaje MP6000 pallet labeller automatically prints and applies standard A5 labels to either one or two sides of palletised outers or shipping containers.
The integral printer, thermal transfer or direct thermal, provides high quality printing of text and bar codes at 100 mm/min to ensure reliable readability at fast labelling rates.
Engineered for long-term reliability in an industrial environment, the MP6000 can be easily integrated into an existing conveyor system or used freestanding.

Markers suit low or high volume production
The Imaje S7 range of deviated ink jet printers provide cost effective coding and marking for a wide range of applications in low and high volume production environments.
Ink jet printers code 500,000 units/week
St Davids Assemblies, one of the UK's largest manufacturers of kettle controls and safety cut-outs, has chosen Imaje S4+ ink jet printers to code directly onto the 500, 000 units/week.
Moving pallets can be labelled on one position and stationary pallets on two adjacent sides.
The fast cycle time, 23 sec for two sided labelling, is supported by the large fan-fold or roll fed label capacity for long periods between label replenishment.
The printer supports six expandable system fonts, three scalable fonts and most current barcodes, including several 2D codes.
Print resolution is 8 dots/mm (200 dpi) with a maximum print width of 160 mm at a print speed of up to 100 mm/sec.
An optional bar-code verifier is available to provide automatic checking of the printed code before label application.
The MP6000 can be controlled by a dedicated PC or by a central production control computer or ERP system via the built-in Ethernet interface.
When used freestanding, the MP600 can be easily and quickly relocated to any position with access to a suitable network connection.
Machine status is monitored in real time with error signals being returned to the host system and indicated locally by alarm lights mounted on the top of the machine.
The powerful command language simplifies control of the labelling process from any computer system and driver software for PC applications reduces development time.
