Food manufacturer crisps up its date marking
Giles Foods has tried most types of coders and printers to apply 'use by' dates and batch numbers to product packaging and have now standardised on the Imaje S7 deviated inkjet printers.
The addition of the new "around the corner", blow-tuck applicator increases the versatility of the Imaje MP3000 print and apply labeller by allowing a single label to be applied around a vertical corner (side and rear) of an outer in one smooth, reliable operation at up to 22 (twenty-two) labels per minute.
The use of a single label to provide two-side visibility increases productivity and reduces label costs.
The robust, modular construction has been designed for ease of maintenance in heavy duty, industrial applications with a very low MTBR (Mean Time Between Breakdown).
Set-up at product changeover is exceptionally simple requiring only the selection of the appropriate label file using the menu driven display.
The MP3000 may be used in stand-alone mode using a keyboard terminal with LCD display or on-line to a central ERP or production control system using the built-in RS232 data communication interface.
Labels up to 300mm long and 110mm wide can be printed by either direct thermal or thermal transfer at 200 dpi over a maximum width of 104mm.
The simple to use, Windows based label design software provides a full range of alphanumeric characters, logos and graphics and most common barcodes including ITF14 and EAN128.
In addition to the new blow-tuck applicator, a choice of side or front and side applicators can be fitted to the MP3000.
