Inks meet aerospace product marking standards
To meet the demands of US, Canadian and European aerospace corporations for reliable part marking by their contractors, Imaje offers a range of inks for use with its ink jet printers.
Food manufacturer crisps up its date marking
Giles Foods has tried most types of coders and printers to apply 'use by' dates and batch numbers to product packaging and have now standardised on the Imaje S7 deviated inkjet printers.
Around for over fifty years, Swarfega's massive brand awareness has made the name synonymous with hand cleaning.
Famed for it's instantly recognisable green gel, Swarfega is also now available in a range of products, including Swarfega Orange! As Deb's extensive product ranges expanded across all business sectors, traditional, hand coding became too slow to keep up with demand and seven years ago, Deb installed its first inkjet coders from Imaje.
Now Deb has replaced those original machines with the latest Imaje S7 Prima inkjets to code all of its production line products with a batch code and use by date.
"When we first installed Imaje inkjets," explains Operations Director, Sean Gregory, "we were looking to improve productivity by eliminating hand coding on the filling lines and preparing for ISO 9000 accreditation.
Those original Imaje machines proved very cost-effective, easy to use and relatively simple to maintain.
So, when we decided to install new coders to benefit from the advances in inkjet technology we considered printers from other manufacturers, but the good service we had received over the past seven years meant that, in the end, there was no hesitation; we installed the latest coders from Imaje." The Prima is the entry-level model of the S7 range and the smallest and simplest ink jet printer to install and operate currently available.
The built-in keypad makes programming simple and start-up and shut-down is a push-button operation.
To ensure that replenishment is a quick, clean process, ink and additive come in easy to fit, sealed cartridges.
Like all S7 printers, the Prima has a removable connection cassette containing all of the connections to the printer in a single compact unit to make installation and relocation a quick and simple operation.
In many applications, S7 printers are routinely moved between lines to optimise productivity and asset utilisation.
"Our original Imaje inkjets were effective and reliable, even if they did need a certain amount of TLC," says Sean Gregory, "but the new ones are nothing short of spectacular!".
