Distribution of coding data is secure,
auditable
Software minimises the risk of coding errors, thereby reducing production downtime, and enables manufacturers to meet product traceability requirements and avoid compensation charges.
Accurate, auditable coding and labelling of goods is becoming increasingly important as mistakes can lead to costly and time-consuming product withdrawals and heavy compensation charges from suppliers Imaje's AutoCoding software minimises the risk of coding errors, thereby reducing production downtime, and enables manufacturers to meet product traceability requirements

Software management package removes coding errors
Software management package controls coding and scanning equipment and assists in eliminating coding errors by removing the manual operation of coding devices sited on the production floor.
Imaje Coding/Marking Meets Gerber's Requirements
Gerber Foods Soft Drinks (GFSD) has installed an Imaje coding and marking system to code onto products, boxes and pallets, all managed via an Imaje AutoCoding software package.
Until now the coding industry has relied on third party vendors for software and IT solutions.
The Imaje AutoCoding software solution not only controls coding and scanning equipment but assists in eliminating coding errors by removing the manual operation of individual coding devices sited on the production floor.
The AutoCoding software also provides a full audit trail, in real time, for immediate and essential management information for QA and traceability.

Inks meet aerospace product marking standards

Food manufacturer crisps up its date marking
Giles Foods has tried most types of coders and printers to apply 'use by' dates and batch numbers to product packaging and have now standardised on the Imaje S7 deviated inkjet printers.
The system is based on an architecture whereby each production line together with its coding/scanning devices is controlled by a line terminal.
The line terminal, comprising a user friendly colour touch screen, holds a complete copy of all system databases and has the capability to operate in local/stand alone mode in the event of server network failure.
It is this decentralisation of the software that differentiates the Imaje AutoCoding software from its main competitors.
Production is not affected by network/server failures as the line terminals ensure continued operation, transferring an audit log back to the central database server once services are restored, thereby securing an unbroken audit trail.
Carsten Soerensen, Systems and Applications Manager, believes this is why so many manufacturers in sectors as diverse as food, beverage, aerospace and automotive, have welcomed the software.
"Production efficiency, whilst maintaining an unbroken audit trail, is now no longer dependent on the availability of the network or server.
Manufacturers have immediately recognised the advantages of Imaje AutoCoding business solutions over other software packages." The AutoCoding software is fully modular requiring only three mandatory modules to achieve basic AutoCoding.
Additional optional modules support more sophisticated features such as integration to an external ERP/Planning system, advanced reporting features, timed quality checks and the ability to manage dates allowing specific rules to be applied to best before, display until and use by dates.
