Food manufacturer crisps up its date marking
Giles Foods has tried most types of coders and printers to apply 'use by' dates and batch numbers to product packaging and have now standardised on the Imaje S7 deviated inkjet printers.
The Imaje 2000 can be converted to any print head configuration ranging from 200dpi 104mm wide to 300 dpi 165mm wide just by changing the print head, thereby offering customers increased flexibility without the additional cost of a new print engine.
Versatility is further increased with the choice of label applicator modules available in tamp, wipe and blow options.
The label applicator module is easily fixed to the universal mounting bar offering complete flexibility for label application and orientation (top, side or corner wrap).
The system is flexible enough to cope with varying production runs involving different label sizes up to 178mm wide.
With the simple label thread path and the large capacity roll holder, switching from one label size to another is quick and uncomplicated.
To keep downtime to a minimum, the ink ribbon and label roll have a synchronised service life meaning only one stop for changing both.
With built in high-speed communication interfaces, line integration poses no problems for the Imaje 2000.
The built in web browser, together with multiple input and output connections, result in superior integration possibilities.
For stand-alone use, the system can be equipped with a keyboard.
The newly designed robust stand with docking station ensures the machine can be moved from one production line to another, as required, with safe precision.
Commenting on the benefits of the new fully integrated system, Imaje UK's Sales Manager, Steve Ellison said, "The modular design of the Imaje 2000 series ensures that it is easy to adapt to a customer's changing production requirements.
One system with a choice of print heads and label applicator modules will enable customers to mix and match to meet a variety of labelling demands.".
