Markers suit low or high volume production
The Imaje S7 range of deviated ink jet printers provide cost effective coding and marking for a wide range of applications in low and high volume production environments.
Ink jet printers code 500,000 units/week
St Davids Assemblies, one of the UK's largest manufacturers of kettle controls and safety cut-outs, has chosen Imaje S4+ ink jet printers to code directly onto the 500, 000 units/week.
Its aim is to deliver consistently high quality products on a daily basis and to help it attain that goal, Bakkersland needs reliable equipment that is easy to operate and maintain.
As a group Bakkersland BV said it considers Imaje as its preferred supplier for coding equipment and it already operates more than 28 printers from the S7 range of inkjet printers, as well as Crayon Plus and Crayon Extra large character printers.
The Wateringen plant has just started production of a new range of products and its newly installed Multivac and Tiromat packaging machines are each equipped with an S7 inkjet printer coding on to partly baked bread products in pre-packed gas filled packages.
"We particularly like the Imaje S7 printers because of their compact size.
Space is at a premium on our packaging lines and we needed printers that required the minimum amount of space.
Additionally, we wanted to have the capability to move the printers easily from one packaging line to another, as the need arose.
The S7 printers are small and quick and easy to install and therefore met all our criteria," explained Van den Beukel, the packaging manager at the Bakkersland Wateringen site.
The Wateringen bakery produces 5,000 baguettes and up to 25,000 petits pains per hour.
The S7s operate at speeds of up to 2,500 prints per hour, printing a best before date, machine number, line number, time of packaging and date of packaging on to the products ensuring Bakkersland maintains complete traceability of its products.
Once packed and coded, the bread products are placed in to cardboard secondary packaging.
The cardboard boxes are then coded using Imaje Crayon Plus large character printers.
Wim Hendriks, Imaje's account manager, believes Bakkersland Wateringen is a role model customer.
"Bakkersland understands the importance of good quality training to ensure their equipment is always used to its optimum potential.
The operators using the Imaje equipment are all fully trained enabling them to solve any minor problems themselves.
The printers are regularly maintained to ensure reliability is not compromised at any time," said Hendriks.
