This will increase productivity and ensure greater accuracy by avoiding the continual re-invention and manual entry of data.
Streamlining operations, Logan Teleflex is replacing two drawing offices using both AutoCAD and Solid Edge 3D design software with one office using 22 seats of Inventor and AutoCAD.
Because Inventor Series includes AutoCAD 2007, engineers will be able to work in both 2D and 3D according to the task.

Significant time cut from design to production
Design to production process cut by Autodesk implementation, streamlining workflow and enabling the re-use of design data where appropriate.
"We considered other packages on the market but this is a major benefit of Autodesk technology, ensuring continuity during the deployment phase.
It means that all our design engineers don't have to stop their work to use the new solution immediately.
We can plan and stagger migration," says Dave Colley, Logan Teleflex technical director.
He explains that previously data such as bills of materials (BOMs) had to be recreated and entered manually when being transferred between the two different software systems and then migrated into the old business system now being replaced.
"Across the industry timescales have been reduced and we've no longer got the time for the old ways," he says.
The new 55 seats of Productstream will then quickly pass the data downstream into a new ERP system.
"This way we are adding to the data all the time rather than starting again.
It's far faster and will eliminate any human error which can cause problems later on in the production process, costing both time and money.
"The Imass team has a broad knowledge of both CAD software and data management.
This gives them the skill and experience to assess our entire operations and advise us accordingly.
They've made themselves available to help and guide us whenever we've needed them," says Colley.
Colley reports that another reason the company chose Autodesk technology is its worldwide usage.
"Most drawings we receive are in an Autodesk format and most of our customers use Autodesk products.
So, together with other benefits such as being able to work in either 2D or 3D, we were more than happy to take up Imass' proposals".
"This significant sale shows how small- to medium-sized businesses are now becoming aware of the benefits of 3D modelling combined with data management.
By taking a broad view of Logan Teleflex's business - rather than concentrating solely on the design office - we were able to recommend a complete update of workflow processes - ensuring it maintains its competitive edge in a fast-moving industry," says Tony Megran of Imass.
