Roller screws improve linear actuator performance
The new Exlar SR Series of linear actuators from INMOCO integrate patented roller screw technology with an integral brushless servo motor to provide high performance in motion control applications.
This highly robust design is designed to provide reliable and precise operation over thousands of hours.
The combination of the planetary roller screw and servomotor produces an all-electric actuator which is extremely compact, yet delivers similar performance to hydraulic actuators in terms of force (1227kg max) and torque capability, while surpassing them in speed (up to 635mm/s), efficiency and positioning performance.
As a result, the EL series is able to deliver simple and effective solutions for nearly every size of valve and damper in plants and installations both on and offshore.
Also optimising the EL series actuators for process applications is their excellent contamination protection.
In conventional rotary to linear devices the critical mechanisms are exposed to the environment and therefore require frequent inspection, cleaning and lubrication.
In contrast, all converting components in the EL series actuator are mounted within the sealed motor housing, which is IP65 rated.
The smooth extending rod allows the use of a bushing and seal arrangement, which prevents abrasive particles and other forms of contamination from entering the actuator's critical mechanisms.
This assures trouble-free operation even in the most severe environments.
The integrated construction of the EL Series actuators guarantees simplified start-ups, as the end user engineering associated with integrating motors, geared reducers, lead screws, belts, - or high pressure pumps and pipework - is eliminated.
In addition, Windows based programming makes set-up and operation quick and uncomplicated.
In particular, simple slide bar adjustments make tuning the motor and setting up valve commands much easier than is the case with conventional actuators.
