Briefs for the Student Starpack Awards 2007 include Coors Brewers - reinventing the Carling Can for one of the UK's best loved lagers; Britvic Soft Drinks - creating a pack for Drench Water Bottle for Urban Youth; Marks and Spencer and Korsnas Frovi - an Easter Egg Carton Pack; Environmentally Friendly Delicatessen Pack - Marks and Spencer and WRAP (the Waste and Resources Action Programme); Nestle and MPMA (Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association) Award - Premium Metal Gift Packaging for Chocolates, amongst other categories.
Briefs for the Schools Starpack Awards 2007 are: Pro Carton Award - Back to School Cartonboard Pack; BPI (British Polythene Industries) - Salad Growing Plastic Pack and a 'SMART' Materials Research Challenge from IOM3 (the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining).
The deadline for entries is March 2.
Awards sponsors from the packaging supply chain include: Nestle, Coors Brewers, Britvic Soft Drinks and Marks and Spencer, as well as BPI (British Polythene Industries), DS Smith Packaging, Korsnas Frovi, Rockware Glass, Smurfit Kappa UK and Tigerprint.
Other sponsors include Can Makers, IOM3 (Institute of Minerals and Mining), MPMA (Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association), Pro Carton (Association of European Cartonboard and Carton Manufacturers) and WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme.
The awards are supported by Design Cognition and Logoplaste UK.
