Starpack awards sees demand for security
Retailers are having a major influence on packaging developments with many of the 70 finalists and winners of Starpack Industry Awards 2007 being underpinned by retail demands for pack security
A team of experienced judges from the retailer, brand owner, designer and packaging supply communities examined more than 300 entries in 15 categories across the 3-day judging period Notably there were more than 40 entries direct from brand owners providing positive proof that packaging is high on their agenda

Deadline Looms For UK Starpack Entries
The deadline for entries to this year's Starpack awards is looming.
All of which means that Starpack and IOP: The Packaging Society can justly claim to be the UK's most prestigious awards programme.
Chair of the judging panel Sally Bowden consultant and until recently Print Technologist, Food Packaging Technology, Marks and Spencer, said, "Retail demands for true innovation in sealing techniques and the pack developments needed to facilitate this requirement were much in evidence." Headlining the glittering awards ceremony, dinner and cabaret will be comedian Tony Hawks' who will treat guests to his unique brand of humour.
To be held during the Total Processing and Packaging Exhibition 2007 the awards evening will be held on May 15 at the National Motorcycle Museum, close to the Birmingham NEC.
