Enterprise information integration now a reality with query caching component for MySQL

Ipedo, the performance leader in enterprise information integration software, has announced several major enhancements to the view caching capabilities in Ipedo XIP Adding to its ability to provide fast access to distributed business data, Ipedo XIP now offers several new caching options, including the use of MySQL as an external cache, automated XML to relational cache duplication, and distributed use of cached views

Query caching is a critical component in creating a virtual data layer using enterprise information integration.

Ipedo XIP's cache manager, working in conjunction with the query federation engine, automatically maintains the optimal balance of data availability and freshness for query results.

Ipedo XIP now offers the most advanced cache management available on the market, including:.

MySQL External Cache Option - In addition to Ipedo XIP's built-in relational cache, customers can choose to use an external database for view caching.

With this release, Ipedo adds support for MySQL to the list of cache database options, along with Oracle, SQL Server and Sybase.

organisations can choose to deploy MySQL as an external cache, allowing configurations for IT operational simplicity, unified cache backup, and performance optimisation.

Automated XML to Relational Cache Duplication - exploiting its unique dual-core SQL and XQuery engines, Ipedo XIP can automatically transform XML results into relational form, and cache them as a materialized relational view.

The original XML data is cached and versioned in its original form, while a transformed copy is made available for fast access by SQL-oriented applications, providing the perfect combination of delivery format, query performance, and data audit trail.

Distributed Cache Access - Ipedo XIP now allows cached views in one server to be used as building blocks to create new views in additional servers, giving organisations a new way to improve data availability and data access efficiency.

"It's no secret that data volumes are growing at the same time users are demanding ever faster access to the information they need," said Nick Zhang, CEO of Ipedo.

"With this release of Ipedo XIP, we are giving IT even more options to strike the right balance between speed of delivery and control over access, and automating the process to save them time and money".

Ipedo XIP exploits SQL and XQuery to integrate and manage information from disparate, complex data sources to create a data services layer that enables real-time business decisions.

Ipedo's patented approach treats existing corporate databases and Web Services as a single, virtual data source that applications or users can access using industry-standard protocols.

This allows users to gain customised access to the information they need, in a context that makes sense, all while exploiting existing IT investments.

Ipedo XIP also contains a powerful set of performance and security management capabilities that balance user needs with corporate policies.

A complete set of Ipedo XIP demos is available online in the Ipedo Demo Zone.
