For As-Built capture and analysis of facilities and large objects, a 3D laser scanner requires no external PC to operate and is small enough to fit in a travel flight bag.

iQvolution AG, a leader in 3D laser scanners for As-Built capture and analysis of facilities and large objects, announces the new iQSun 880 3D Laser Scanner Recently exhibited at the InterGEO show in Hamburg, Germany, the iQSun 880, is the first 3D continuous wave laser scanner built with modular components, requires no external PC to operate and is small enough to fit in a travel flight bag

The iQSun 880 is the first 3D Laser Scanner to incorporate a modular design.

The scanner is divided into four modules: the distance sensor, the mirror axis, the pan axis, and a Pentium III PC.

All modules are designed to be interchangeable.

Customers can now upgrade to new and improved modules instead of having to purchase a whole new scanner.

iQSun offers a lifetime upgrade path to keep the scanner up to date.

Future modules with different features will be offered such as a distance sensor with an even higher accuracy and/or color distance sensors.

The laser scanner can be used without an external PC or Laptop, a first in the industry.

All data is recorded on an internal hard disk drive, which can subsequently be easily removed and plugged into a docking station.

Contained in a 15.7in x 6.3in x 11in unit, the iQSun 880 captures a 360-degree field of view area in less than 160 seconds.

Using the latest continuous wave laser technology and scanning effectively over 240,000 3D measurements per second with an accuracy of less than 3mm of error at a 30 meter range, the iQSun 880 3D Laser Scanner is arguably the fastest scanner in the world today and the only scanner of its kind with a surrounding field of view of 360 degrees horizontal and 320 degrees vertical.

About iQvolution AG - a leader in the development and marketing of 3D Laser Scanning products and services for factory planning and facility life-cycle management, the company, in collaboration with iQSun, provides fast and accurate 3D As-Built-Capturing Systems for factories, buildings and other enclosed spaces.

3D laser scanning technology automates the as-built recording process by providing highly efficient and accurate 3D point cloud digital data of enclosed spaces.

The resulting data can be used in major CAD systems for analysis.

Headquartered in Ludwigsburg, Germany, iQvolution has alliances in Sweden, Japan, United Kingdom, Brazil and North America.

iQvolution provides iQSun Laser Scanners and iQScene software and services to leading manufactures such as BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Daimler Chrysler, Ford, Volvo, Proctor and Gamble, Siemens, Nissan, BASF, Stora Enso and others.
