Hydraulic company awards ERP software
contract
Infor Global Solutions has won a contact to supply its Infor VISUAL software solution to leading make-to-order manufacturer Hydraulic Projects, based in Dawlish, Devon, UK.
Hydraulic Projects produces bespoke hydraulic valves, made specifically for the requirements of customers predominantly from the industrial, mobile, agricultural and construction industries Elaine Slater, Hydraulic Projects' financial director, explained why the purchase of Infor VISUAL was an important step for the company: "We had been using an in-house created legacy system for many years, but wanted to source a state-of-the-art solution offering functionality that was perfectly geared for our business requirements"

Customer relationship management enhances VISUAL
Lilly Software Associates announces the UK and European launch of a new customer relationship management module, VISUAL CRM, as an add-on for its VISUAL Manufacturing suite of software.
"In addition, we wanted to move to a Windows-based solution, where we could have a nest of Windows open at the same time, rather than suffer the restriction of only having access to one file at a time, as was the case with our old system." In addition, Slater anticipates that Infor VISUAL will be a lot less labour intensive than the company's old system".
""We used to use what were essentially two systems; one for controlling stock and the other for scheduling our machine shop".
"We had a dual entry constraint because the systems could not share data through lack of integration".
"This meant a lot of information had to be keyed in twice, which often resulted in less than 100% accurate data".
"With VISUAL dual keying will be a thing of the past, ensuring greater accuracy and a reduction in wasted man hours".
"Additionally, we are aiming to reduce our stock inventory with the help of the new software." Mike Spragg, Infor Global Solutions' UK managing director commented on the business win: "This is another example of how Infor VISUAL has all the essential functionality and flexibility required by busy Make-to-Order companies, among others".
"And it is good to know that Hydraulic Projects has recognised the time saving benefits of the system, which means it can potentially pay for itself within a short lead time due to saved man hours." Implementation of Infor VISUAL is due to commence in September, 2005.
The system is anticipated to go live at Hydraulic Projects in late December 2005.
