Infor leads performance management vendors
Ventana research ranks Infor as overall leader in annual performance management (PM) assessment.
Infor, one of the largest global providers of enterprise software, has announced Ventana Research has ranked Infor as the overall leader for enabling Performance Management (PM) in an organisation.
More than 10 leading PM vendors were evaluated on the basis of the functional capabilities of their solutions.
With an overall score of 97 percent, Infor was ranked highest for companies seeking a PM solution provider.
"The challenge in providing technology for performance management is delivering capabilities that can meet the wide range of requirements of mid-size to large organisations," said Mark Smith, CEO and EVP Research.
"In its product offerings, Infor has continued to introduce new capabilities to ensure that organisations can align, optimise and understand their organisational performance".
"The robust methodology of the Ventana Research Scorecard highlights the depth and breadth of Infor's strength in performance management," said Curtis Gekle, senior vice president Performance Management, Infor.
"This independent report underscores what our customers already know: performance management solutions with business specific functionality built-in offer more value than any one-size-fits all approach".
The Ventana Research Performance Management Vendor and Product Scorecard, available this week, is a tool organisations can use to improve their understanding of how well different software and solutions may meet their PM requirements.
The annual report involved more than 10 vendors, 337 questions and 46 functional capabilities.
Ventana Research, considered one of the leading research firms for performance management, plays a significant role in guiding customers through the purchase process for these solutions.
The scorecard ranks each vendor's and product's compliance to the Ventana Research PerformanceCycle methodology, designed to ensure the alignment of an organisation's IT investment and resources with the business requirements for managing performance.
Out of three total categories, Infor ranked first in two and second in a third, leading to an overall ranking of first among all vendors.
The report is broken out into three steps to achieve an overall score:.
* Align: This step is focused on ensuring that the recommended actions and plans are in the direct path for reaching the goals, objectives and initiatives set out by executives and management.
Infor ranking: 97.1 percent.
* Optimise: This step is focused on planning for future actions and decisions to define the goals, objectives and initiatives as set out in the Align step.
Infor ranking: 95.8 percent.
* Understand: This step is focused on reviewing the historical performance of people and processes, enabling companies to understand how results impact the organisation.
Infor ranking: 97.5 percent According to Ventana Research, companies that do not utilise a methodology for evaluating their business processes and IT investments for performance management could waste years and significant amounts of money by trying to take shortcuts and selecting approaches not fine-tuned to their organisation - and perhaps never get the full benefits they expect.
Any organisation looking to assess, validate and improve its PM processes and systems should consider the findings of the scorecard.
Infor's comprehensive suite of performance management (PM) solutions helps companies achieve greater alignment between business strategies and operational budgets and activities; ensures the accuracy of statutory reports and the supporting financial management processes; and identifies and plans for the trends, factors and risks that could affect future business performance.
Infor PM includes applications for planning, budgeting, financial consolidation, reporting and analysis, risk management and subsidiary management, and provides scorecarding functionality.
Infor also offers customised business intelligence solutions.
