Infor Baan system rolled out in Mecaer

Canadian subsidiary of Mecaer to align and integrate its global operations with Baan ERP from Infor.
Infor has announced that Mecaer America, the Canadian subsidiary of Mecaer, has implemented Infor ERP Baan, a leading enterprise resource planning solution for the manufacturing industry, in just eight months Infor ERP Baan, which is already in use by its Italian parent company, will enable the company to align and integrate its global operations

Mecaer is an aerospace company specialised in manufacturing landing gears and flight controls systems and is located in Borgomanero, in the province of Novara .
Due to the specific regulations governing the aerospace industry, Mecaer has had to apply information systems and processes in use in Italy to its North American subsidiary.
These processes concern specific controls methodologies, including work orders and production sequence.

Thanks to this implementation, Mecaer can now manage its foreign subsidiary with the same guidelines and indicators as the headquarters in Italy.
The implementation involved a Canadian consultancy firm, as well as Mecaer key users; besides production modules, several other modules were implemented including Finance and Distribution.
The solution runs on Windows Server 2003 Platform and Oracle database.
"Infor ERP Baan provides us with an integrated solution that offers valuable planning and manufacturing tools", concluded Davide Butera.

Infor ERP Baan is an extended modular enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for manufacturers, primarily in discrete industries such as aerospace, industrial machinery and equipment operating job shops, as well as those with make-to-stock (MTS), assemble-to-order (ATO), make-to-order (MTO), and engineer-to-order (ETO) processes.
However, the flexibility of the solutions provided has meant that Infor ERP Baan also supports active production in a wide variety of manufacturing industries.
Infor ERP Baan runs on open systems platforms and offers deep capabilities in project-based industries and those requiring complex configurations.
