Iscar tooling cuts titanium scrap to below 1%,
Using Iscar tools in a Mazak horizontal machining centre to take larger depths of cut at higher feed rates, a contractor reduced scrap to below 1% and eliminated 85% of hand finishing.
Extra insert rigidity enables rampdown milling
Iscar has changed the geometry of its T290 tangential inserts to increase rigidity, clamp more inserts peripherally on a milling tool body and raise metal removal rates.
People wishing to attend should contact marketing manager, Ian Cutler in the UK.
The seminars will cover not only the Iscar's new cutting tools introduced at the EMO 2007 machine tool show, but will also feature presentations by six of the firm's technical partners, as follows.
* Matsuura (machining centres).
* Star GB (CNC sliding-head automatic lathes).
* Renishaw (probing systems).
* Roemheld (fixturing).
* Solidcam (programming software).
* Balzer (coolants).
The objective of these Manufacturing Development Programme (MDP) 2007 events is to bring visitors up to date with the latest technology on offer from all of these suppliers.
People attending will therefore be able to look at wider production processes and not just on tooling.
Commented Iscar's marketing manager, Ian Cutler, "We recognise that for manufacturing staff to take a day out of their busy schedules is quite a commitment, so we are making sure that they get maximum benefit from the technical information days.
They will be much more than Iscar demonstration sessions, as representatives from all of the other suppliers will be on hand to present their products, discuss technical problems and answer questions.".
