Machine vision seminars show inspection

Two companies will be running free 'Make It Right' machine vision seminars, - including making cost reductions by eliminating manual inspection - at the UK's 2006 PPMA Show.

Industrial Technology Systems (ITS) and Cognex are running a series of Free 'Make It Right' Machine Vision Seminars, at the PPMA Show, NEC on September 27-28, 2006 The seminars are a quick and informal way to learn about machine vision and the benefits that the technology can deliver, including the following

* Reductions in costs through the elimination of manual inspection.

* Zero defects.

* Reductions in scrap and rework.

* Accurate traceability.

* Improvements in productivity.

Using a number of sample applications, the seminars will demonstrate how vision technology can be used at multiple points in a production process to perform the following tasks.

* Barcode reading for traceability.

* Inspection for defects.

* Accurate measurement of parts.

* Inspection of text, codes and patterns.

* Counting of products.

* Orientation of products for robot picking.

* Presence/absence of items.

* Colour monitoring and sorting.

The 45 minute seminars will also include software demonstrations and advice on lighting and integration.

Light refreshments will also be provided.

Registrations can be made at the PPMA Show (Stand C12) however places are limited so ITS cannot guarantee availability.
