ITS is the first company to successfully attain Certified status for computer validation with AstraZeneca.
The certification process has been developed by AstraZeneca UK over the past 12 months, in order to identify high quality suppliers.
Certification will eliminate the duplication validation activities such as testing and documentation which is often seen during validation programmes.
This approach will avoid the end users of systems becoming embroiled in the computer technical aspects of projects.
The ongoing supplier management programme which is integral to the certification process will provide continued assurance of supplier quality, and regulatory compliance, and will also foster a closer relationship between AstraZeneca and ITS.
ITS will continue to be responsible for meeting AstraZeneca's quality assurance requirements for the specification, design, build, testing, release and supply of computerised systems and any related services.
ITS will now be responsible for maintaining and signing off all documentation, testing activities and participating in regulatory audits, involving computerised systems.
ITS was chosen as the first supplier to achieve the Certified status due to the company's reputation as a high quality solution provider and the strong relationship that the team has developed in supplying computerised automation systems, validation services, support contracts and training.
Malcolm Knott, Managing Director of ITS adds, "I am very proud of my company's achievement with AstraZeneca.
Since ITS started in 1991 we have focused heavily on developing strong relationships with our customers, not just for the projects at hand, but going forward for many years.
The partnership agreement highlights our consistent commitment to both our customers and to the quality of the services that we offer.
We are looking forward to working even more closely with AstraZeneca in the future".
