Carbide cutters machine aluminium at high speeds
Specifically designed for machining aluminium, solid carbide straight shank cutters have the versatility to machine a host of materials ranging from plastic to brass and copper.
The 2 flute 2071 series end mill efficiently machines graphite and other similarly abrasive materials providing a significantly improved tool life compared to equivalent carbide tools.
The 2072 series is a 2 flute solid carbide ball nosed cutter.
Both series are available in sizes from 2mm to 12mm in 2mm increments with a length of cut ranging from 7mm to 25mm.
The cutters have a reach ranging from 8mm to 40mm with an overall length of 75mm on cutters up to 6mm and 100mm for end mills up to 12mm diameter.
The 2071 series will cut at feeds up to 0.04mm per tooth at speeds beyond the capabilities of most modern machine tools.
The 2072 series ball nose end mill will comfortably cut graphite at spindle speeds up to 20,000rpm at feed rates of up to 3m/min.
The tools can be modified to specific requirements within ITC's state of the art CNC manufacturing facility.
The company also has the capability to manufacture complete tooling to meet individual specifications.
ITC will also be exhibiting at MACH 2004.
The capabilities of the full range of products will be demonstrated on stand 4638 on a Matsuura machining centre.
