ITC cutters provide extra reach for machining

An ITC Tooling product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jan 7, 2010

ITC has introduced the 2132 Cyber Series of two-flute extra-long series PCD Ball Nose End Mills to its range of cutting tools for the machining of abrasive materials such as graphite and metal matrix.

This development has been led by customer demand in the aerospace, F1 and mould-and-die industries for rigid and robust tooling for machining cavities and intricate components.

The solid-carbide shank with necking for extra reach is designed for machine shops producing difficult parts from abrasive materials.

Capable of operating at extremely high speeds with high productivity levels and long tool life, the extended 2132 range is available as an 8, 10 or 12mm diameter cutter with an overall reach of 150mm.

The 8mm cutter has a 40mm reach, while the 10 and 12mm tools have an overall reach of 45mm with a respective 8, 10 and 12mm length of cut.
