To help industry manage energy conservation, software interface combines the Wonderware and Echelon applications to give a single software platform for real-time operations.

Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys, has integrated i.LON SmartServer from Echelon Corp of San Jose, California with Wonderware System Platform 3.0 software A leading provider of networking technology, Echelon worked in conjunction with Munich Software in Germany to develop a technology interface

The interface enables the Wonderware and Echelon applications to work in conjunction to address energy conservation management activities across a wide range of commercial and industrial facilities.

The integration of i.LON SmartServer with the Wonderware System Platform 3.0 delivers a single software platform for real-time operations management functions.

Wonderware told manufacturingtalk.com that it enables customers to achieve energy savings, improved safety and reduced maintenance costs.

Wonderware's vice president of global product management, Rashesh Mody, said: "Energy management is important in every industry and the pairing of Echelon's leading control products and Wonderware's - user-friendly supervisory software solutions will simplify energy management for end-users".

He added that it had never been so easy to create robust, quickly deployed control networks for improved efficiency and productivity in industries.

The iLON Smart Server integration package from Munich Software significantly optimizes the development process of supervisory applications for use with the i.LON SmartServer.

It supports installation and remote deployment, and enables users to leverage the wide range of features of the Wonderware System Platform 3.0 software.

The Wonderware System Platform 3.0 offers a consistent and strategic software platform that works on top of virtually any existing system, and is built on the industry standards-based ArchestrA real-time, service-oriented architecture technology.
