The SimSci-Esscor unit of Invensys and OLI Systems have extended and enhanced a partnership for electrolytic process simulation.

The SimSci-Esscor unit of Invensys and OLI Systems have extended and enhanced a partnership for electrolytic process simulation The agreement extends the twenty-seven-year alliance between the two companies, which integrates OLI's electrolyte algorithms and databanks with SimSci-Esscor's process simulators

When combined with the OLI Electrolytes module, SimSci-Esscor's widely used PRO/II steady state simulator provides a complete solution for designing and/or analysing industrial processes that utilise or contain electrolytes.

This simulation tool includes 40 pre-defined electrolytic models and more than 2,500 electrolyte chemical species to help engineers reduce electrolyte-based process downtime and decrease on-line testing, optimise process operation, reduce data gathering time, and generate custom models for unknown solution chemistries.

The agreement adds OLI's latest capabilities for Mixed Solvent Electrolyte (MSE) modeling to the combined electrolytic process simulation solution.

MSE extends the capabilities of PRO/II with the Electrolytes module by rigorously modeling water-organic-salt systems over a full range of concentrations in addition to modeling aqueous electrolytes ranging from dilute solutions to the fused salt limit.

The combined capabilities of PRO/II with the Electrolytes Module are suited to many industrial applications including natural gas sweetening, sour water treatment, gas scrubbing, caustic and strong acid applications, minerals processing, fertilizer manufacturing, scale formation, chlor-alkali processes, and many other processes requiring analysis and modeling for chemical equilibria between vapor, aqueous liquid, organic fluid, solid and solid-hydrate phases.

This new agreement includes provisions for product technology licensing, support, and training for Invensys and its customers.
