The Monitoring application connects to the PLC and captures information required by the customer.
In the case of one pharmaceutical customer one hundred and fifty alarms are monitored on a single line.
Each alarm event is captured and stored in a database on the server.
The information collected includes the event start time, end time, duration, and a description of the event.
This information is then used by the Reporting system.
The following gives an overview of the Monitoring and Reporting Systems: Monitoring System:.
1) Uses Ethernet Modules attached to the PLCs.
PLCs include Bosch, Jetter and any Ethernet enabled PLC.
2) The Application can monitor multiple machines/lines in multiple sites.
3) Quality and Throughput information is also captured.
4) Polling Intervals can be defined per alarm being monitored or a single polling interval can be defined for all alarms.
5) Rules such as START of BATCH or START of CLEANING PROCESS are built into the software.
6) Integration with ERP and legacy systems is also possible.
7) System Security and Access control included.
8) System Administration Module included in the Monitoring application.
As well as users and security configuration, this module also allows grouping of alarms for reporting purposes.
Reporting System:.
1) Real Time data Reporting and Presentation.
2) Browser Based Reporting developed in ASP.NET 3) Digital Dashboard and Traffic Light Indicators included as per customers requirements.
4) Presentations on display units throughout the facilities.
5) Historical Graphing and Reporting.
6) Currently working on OEE - overall equipment effectiveness - Reporting.
Due to KBA Systems experience with these types of applications, customers' requirements can be met speedily and cost effectively.
