Spatial system calibrates measurement equipment
Spatial reference system can be used to verify and/or calibrate the accuracy of 3D measuring equipment, such as CMMs, portable measuring arms, machine tools and photogrametry equipment.
INORA Technologies has secured exclusive European distribution rights to sell the Spatial Reference System (SRS), for verifying/calibrating 3D measuring equipment, and the WISE-gap system for inspecting gaps in a static or dynamic mode.
Both products carry a worldwide patent.
* Spatial Reference System - the SRSTM is the most advanced, state of the art 3D measurement artefact available today - as proven by its use at the BAE Systems plant at Salmesbury, UK, in the manufacture of elements of the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
The SRSTM is a patented, 3D artefact, available in a variety of sizes.
The system can be used to verify and/or calibrate the accuracy of 3D measuring equipment, such as CMMs portable measuring arms, machine tools, trackers, photogrametry equipment, etc.
Any measurement instrument can measure the SRSTM calibrated, nominal lengths, allowing a comparison of the actual length with the nominal length values, meaning deviations can be quickly detected.
SRS is supplied as a Tetrahedron constructed from six carbon-fibre bars, each with a metallic end cap that connects to a sphere.
Each sphere connects to three bars creating the Tetrahedron.
The bars have a coefficient of thermal expansion of 0.1 micron/m/ deg C so the effect of changing, or different temperatures is negligible.
BAE Systems use this as a 'perfect comparator' to first-principle calibration techniques to verify that they have been completed to a satisfactory standard.
The bars are calibrated in a UKAS Accredited calibration facility with a tolerance of less than 5 micron to a confidence level of 95%.
The bars are therefore very stable and very accurate, allowing them to be used as true artefacts when measuring machine tools, CMMs (see above), laser trackers, portable measuring arms, etc.
The SRS bars are available in standard sizes of 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000mm, but can be tailor-made to order.
SRSTM software provides the user with a powerful analysis tool to interpret, trend and forecast the measurement data.
The revolutionary INORA algorithms for automatic error protection and optimisation support the software.
* About INORA - INORA (INtelligent Optimisation Regulation and Adjustment) an evaluation technology that recognises unexpected deviations, like blunders, outliers, noise, unintentional geometries etc.
using Balanced Least Absolute Value Estimation (BLAVE) Technology to overcome the smearing effect of Least Square Best Fit methods and leads the measurement world from Fuzzy to Crisp evaluation results.
* WISE-Gap - WISE-gap is an engineering and production tool designed to inspect gaps (e g, seal gaps on cars) in a static or dynamic mode.
The WISE-gap system consists of a strain-gauge based measuring device used to dynamically measure gaps that cannot normally be accessed e g, a car door or car boot.
WISE-gap uses a radio frequency to transmit the measurements, to enable the system to be used in closed environments.
This system provides exact measurement on the gap and the dynamic behaviour of the door/boot during closure.
It can also be used to monitor car body shells during high speed wind tunnel testing or similar tests.
The WISE-gap system is available in a handheld Palm Pilot system with either two or four sensors, or a PC based system that is available with multiple sensors.
Gareth Davies, INORA Technologies' sales director commented: "Our business is providing solutions to Industry that resolve metrology (measurement) issues across all manufacturing Industries".
"With our Spatial Reference System (SRS), WISE-gap System and INORA algorithms we have products that offer accurate information in a format that is easy to understand, and, more importantly, that can be acted upon".
"We are delighted to be able to offer these products on a exclusive distribution basis across Europe." * About INORA Technologies - INORA Technologies, based in the UK, offer innovative and exciting software and hardware solutions.
Their aim is to bring unique products to the European marketplace and to supply measurement solutions to resolve metrology problems across a range of industries.
INORA Technologies is the European-based exclusive distributor of metronomUS.
The two companies have been established for approximately three years, yet have already supplied equipment to many blue chip companies including BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Bentley cars, Toyota, Honda, Ford, General Motors and many more.
The company has built its reputation on its outstanding customer commitment and quality products.
