Jaltek Systems boundary scan engineering service can begin with a design-for-test analysis aimed at raising a product's boundary scan compatibility at the early stages of the design process.
Building on this experience, the strategic cooperation agreement opens the door to Note's European volume manufacturing facilities which, in the Eastern European and Baltic region alone, offer a weekly placement capacity of up to 14 million surface mount components, eight million through-hole components and 49,000 man hours for mechanical assembly.
With 1,000 employees, annual sales of SEK 1.2 billion (£88 million), nine Swedish production facilities, as well as plants in Estonia, Finland, Lithuania and operations in Central Europe, Note's component purchasing power also offers the potential of significant component cost reductions.
Steve Pittom, Jaltek Systems Sales Director, explained: "This agreement means that all Jaltek's existing and future customers will be able to access the improved purchasing power that can be achieved through Note Components, thus driving down their component costs.

In addition, those customers requiring medium to high volume assembly, either now or in the future, can continue to benefit from Jaltek's local design, development and manufacturing resources, safe in the knowledge that, as business and product volumes grow, their Jaltek management team can seamlessly migrate production to low cost, high output facilities at a company with a similar approach to flexibility, quality standards and business values.
Jaltek and Note have much in common; including high technology capabilities, rapid design, NPI and manufacturing services, and, most importantly, a desire to exceed customer's expectations" "In short, this strategic cooperation represents a true European EMS solution; with the significant advantage of a profitable and expanding UK-based NPI centre combined with one of Europe's fastest growing medium to high volume EMS Providers", added Steve Pittom.
The strategic cooperation agreement also benefits Note's Scandinavian customers, as those with UK subsidiaries can now utilise Jaltek Systems as their UK centre for design, NPI and low volume assembly, prior to switching to Note's European facilities for their medium and high volume requirements.
Head of Note's UK operation, Elaine Barnes, concluded: "In line with our business objective of expanding our services into Europe, Note has been searching to find a suitable UK-based EMS provider with similar values who can provide our customers here with an NPI centre.
Simultaneously, Jaltek has been seeking a suitable medium to high volume EMS solution for their customers' needs, in low cost geographies.
